Aerotek's client is looking for Roller Operators to assist with paving projects across the Maryland area.Job Description:The Roller Operator distributes, breaks down, compresses, and gives a finished surface to cooling asphaltUnloads tools, setup equipment and prepare work area,Follow project instructions from construction foreman and/or supervisorMeasure, mark, or record openings or distances to layout areas where construction work will be performedUse construction and maintenance tools and equipment to complete daily tasks (includes but not limited to shovels, rakes, loots, etc.)Safely operate a variety of tools including, but not limited to, jackhammers, drills, saws, grinders, torches, etcAbility to assist with the loading and unloading of equipment and materialsSafely and effectively operate machinery in order to complete assigned jobs- skid steer, asphalt paver, rollerThorough understand all aspects of the paving industry including preparatory work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, job specifications, oil consistencies, compaction and other details related to asphalt paving,Performs equipment maintenance duties such as cleaning, greasing and maintaining fluid levels on equipment; will also assist with equipment cleanup as needed,Work outdoors in changing weather conditions, around hot asphalt and asphalt paving equipment,Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner, with high standards for quality and safetyAdditional Skills:Experience with construction and maintenance tools (shovels, rakes, jackhammers, drills, saws, grinders, torches)Skilled in operating machinery (skid steer, asphalt paver, roller)Knowledge of paving industry (grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, job specifications, oil consistencies, compaction)Shift:Candidates must be open to working day or night shifts.Monday to Saturday 06:00AM to 04:30PMSunday to Thursday, 07:00PM to 05:00AMWork Site:Service areas include St. Mary's County thru Howard County and occasionally DC and Northern Virginia.Qualified candidates will be given a call within 48 hours of submitting an application.About Aerotek:We know that a company's success starts with its employees.
