Industrial Engineering and Process Improvement Intern
(Level I: College or Grad Student)
Washington, DC Remote
Overview:
This position offers the ideal candidate an opportunity to gain hands-on experience creating more modern and efficient processes for both corporate and client projects in the Federal space. You will exercise your strategic abilities to analyze current business process and participate in continuous improvement projects.
Apply basic industrial engineering concepts, approaches and techniques to product, process, and services to meet industry requirements.
Gather and analyze data, performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to quantify process inefficiencies and track improvements over time.
Conduct basic workflow design and analysis
Assist in continuous improvement projects, employing methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Total Quality Management (TQM) to drive ongoing process enhancements.
Support implementation plans and programs for facility/factory modifications and revisions to operating methods.
Assist in developing training materials, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and documentation to ensure that optimized processes are adopted.
Experience & Qualifications:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel
Experienced in process mapping and analysis tools
Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is a plus.
Skills:
Independent, entrepreneurial work ethic with robust problem-solving capabilities.
Effective communication skills, especially with senior stakeholders.

Education & Experience Required:
Sophomore to Graduate Student currently enrolled in a college or university with 3.0 GPA.
Must be enrolled in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
