Job Description

  • Must possess extensive knowledge with the personal computer, including Microsoft Office, financial and desktop publishing software (excel, PowerPoint, Canva). Database experience is required. Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge (NXT) software skills are preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings and support the needs of volunteer leaders, as outlined by Executive Director.
  • Recruit, manage and recognize volunteers through board and committee efforts.
  • Ability and comfort to reach out to local business community to solicit event sponsorships.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, collaborate and build teamwork approach to execute special events and campaigns.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities of position and meet deadlines and to provide staff assistance for all Foundation events and campaigns.
  • Ability to create promotional and marketing materials for special events and execute in conjunction with organizational communications strategies.
  • Must be a quick-thinking self-starter who displays creativity and inventiveness.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with health system staff, physicians, board members, patients, visitors, volunteers, and the general public to ensure the confidentially and rights of all patient and departmental documents.

Company Description

The University Of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is located in La Plata, Maryland. The hospital has approximately 110 beds, and approximately 260,000 sq. ft. of space. There are five Operating Rooms, approximately 41 Exam/Treatments rooms in the Emergency Department, a Wound Care Center, and Infusion Center located within the hospital campus. CRMC also operates approximately Medical Practices, to include an Endoscopy Center, and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center that are located off-site all within an approximate five-mile radius of the main hospital Campus.

Qualifications

LANGUAGE SKILLS: The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form with patients, physicians, health system officials, other health system personnel, the media, volunteer leadership and the general public is essential.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic understanding of financial and gift reporting, as well as general accounting principles.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to work under stress and coordinate multiple projects while maintaining an appropriate and mature attitude in keeping with the outstanding credibility and public image of the Foundation.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS: n/a

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Will work in a clean, well-lighted environment. Requires sitting approximately 75% of the time. Fifteen percent of the time will be spent running errands and meeting with the public. Requires reaching/pushing/pulling, lifting and carrying supplies and equipment up to 20 lbs., approximately 10% of the time. Potential exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials requiring the observance of Standard Precautions and safe handling practices.
