Do you have 6 years' experience with federal financial management and 3 years of federal accounting experience? ABOUT THIS ROLE
St. Michael's is hiring to fill a Senior Financial and Policy Analyst position to support a Department of Defense (DoD) client. In this position you must have knowledge of DoD and Army financial management procedures and systems; strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to use technology to continually learn and improve Client deliverables. This is a client-facing role that will benefit from your financial and accounting experience as a civil servant, service member, or defense contractor as you remain mission-focused in a fast-paced environment. You will serve as a key contributor to help our client achieve audit success as it relates to their General Fund. LOCATION
Crystal City, VA (Hybrid 2-4 days per month when required)

WHO YOU ARE
  • Interim SECRET clearance with ability to obtain SECRET clearance
  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or Business Management, or
  • Bachelor's Degree with a professional certification of one of the following: Certified Public Accountant (CPA); Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM); Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM); Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA); Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • 6 years of experience with federal financial management
  • 3 years of federal accounting experience
  • Operational knowledge on financial accounting programs such as Advana, Dormant Account Review - Quarterly, GFEBS, GFEBS-SA, and GCSS-Army
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 25% based on Client requirements

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop program strategy and coordinate with commands to reduce dormant account balance.
  • Provide subject matter expertise, advise and recommendations to assist the Client build strong accountability for business processes.
  • Use advanced written and grammatical skills to edit all financial policy in accordance with current regulations prior to publishing to commands.
  • Train command personnel on requirements for supporting audit to include during in-person professional development, ad hoc workshops, and site visit support
