Position Title: Administrative Security Assistant (PERSEC) Hybrid

Reports To: Program Manager

Clearance Type: Public Trust based on a T5 Investigation or Top Secret clearance

Work Location: National Capital Region (Hybrid expected, 3 days onsite/week)

Start Date: On Contract Award

Job Description:

Advantage SCI is accepting applications to support a federal agency personnel security program.

Summary of duties include but not limited to:
  • Acting as liaison between HR and Security Divisions in explaining onboarding process and its steps to applicants and providing support to HR staffing specialists regarding vetting questions.
  • Responding to internal and external customer inquiries that will allow customers to obtain the status of their investigation or other related action.
  • Initiating forms for background investigations for applicants/employees at the appropriate level, in accordance with the duties of their position.
  • Tracking completion of security applications and providing updates.
  • Conducting quality review and presenting findings to Federal employees regarding completed security applications to minimize unacceptable submissions to the investigative service provider.
  • Supporting the execution of scanning and submitting fingerprint cards as well as verification that fingerprint results are classifiable.
  • Supporting security division employees in their routing copies of credit reports, court records, Selective Service checks, and other investigative elements as needed.
  • Tracking all stages of activities within the case management system
  • Supporting the enrollment and disenrollment of personnel into FBI RAPBACK and Continuous Evaluation/Vetting systems as appropriate.
  • Logging and processing incoming mail.
  • Responding to email inquiries in a timely manner
  • Supporting the execution of out-processing of employees to maintain an accurate inventory of personnel assigned.


Experience and Skills
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a Human Resources and/or Personnel Security-related area. A bachelor's degree may be substituted with 2 years of Federal experience
  • At least 2 years in Federal HR and/or Personnel Security experience.
  • Demonstrated administrative skills, particularly file organization and maintenance procedures, and in relevant business area(s) defined in the order.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systems
  • Ability to communicate with high-level visitors is imperative

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with FBI's RAPBACK data system
  • Human Resources experience

Working Conditions:
  • Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
  • Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach
  • Able to sit, stand, walk, run
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
