Desktop Technician - Asset Refresh

Job description

Dexian has an immediate opportunity available for a Desktop Technician with our premier aerospace customer. This is a temporary project involving the distribution of new computer equipment to client employees as they arrive at a specified pick-up location. Once delivered, the asset will be noted in ServiceNow and associated to the employee's profile. The Desktop Technician will accept old equipment and update ServiceNow with the new device status (e.g.: In-Stock, Pending Disposal, etc.). Wrap-up duties may include packaging and mailing remaining equipment to employees who could not pickup tokens in person.
The Desktop Technician shall:

  • Be responsible for providing maintenance of computing devices, associated peripherals, and approved software, and shall install and maintain hardware and software on those devices and associated peripherals.
  • Install all upgrades (memory, hard drives, etc.) and peripheral devices.
  • Provide the appropriate office support to coordinate and schedule new equipment installations.
  • Monitor and update ServiceNow to ensure that all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met and make updates to ServiceNow asset records.
  • Assist in coordinating, scheduling, and performing relocations and re-installations of equipment.
  • Perform periodic physical audits of end user computing devices to compare with ServiceNow's records (deployment location, storage location, and assignee information).


JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:

  • Three (3) + years' experience in an IT support tole, preferably as a Desktop (Desk Side) or Help Desk technician.
  • Intermediate knowledge in supporting enterprise level PC's.
  • Intermediate understanding of installing/supporting/ troubleshooting Windows devices, MS Office, network connectivity issues, etc., and perform system (re)imaging using LANDesk or other imaging technologies.
  • Intermediate understanding of data transfers using USMT.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with a high focus on customer service.
  • Ability to provide solutions to user problems to ensure user satisfaction and productivity.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize work assignments to meet deadlines/Service Level Agreements (SLA) in a fast-paced environment without supervision.

This position requires an active Department of Defense security clearance at the SECRET level or ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma required, college coursework in IT studies preferred.
  • IAT Level-1 Technical Training Certification (e.g.: CompTIA A+) preferred.

PROJECT DURATION/LOCATION:

  • This is a full-time temporary position starting 8 July 2024 and ending on or about 31 December 2024. On-site attendance is required.

COMPENSATION:

  • Dexian reasonable expects to offer $27.91/hour to $32.84/hour plus benefits to include health, vision and dental insurance, 401k, and generous PTO and holidays.

  • Submit/Pass a 10-year background check, criminal history, drug screening, and fingerprints.
  • Valid driver's license/Real-ID with clean driver's history.
  • Self-starter with extremely strong work ethic.
  • Excellent time-management and multitasking skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy required.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and people skills.
  • Ability to research, resolve and complete tasks within pre-determined deadlines and schedules.
  • Able to process work quickly and accurately - dealing with interruptions, changing timelines and priorities on a regular basis.
  • Must embrace technology to promote efficient operations.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, and Word programs.
