SME Systems Engineer Bright-Star is currently seeking a SME Systems Engineer CBP/BI clearance to work in the DC metro area. Please apply! Full Description: The Systems Engineer will support the CBP PMO and support critical national security programs. Join our team of collaborative self-starters focused on delivering practical and efficient solutions to help our client keep U.S. borders safe and facilitate travel and trade. As part of our high-performing team, you will augment our vital work to provide eyes and ears technology to protect our nation. Responsibilities:
The Lead Systems Engineer will work with systems engineers, program managers, and technical subject matter experts to plan and execute technology demonstration, system development testing, operational testing, operational assessment, and other T&E related activities
Leads technical activities and directs the engineering technical management team in providing systems engineering activities to support the system acquisition and sustainment life cycle
Coordinates with government and team members to formulate, review, and execute technical requirements and engineering related task plans, studies, analyses, reports, and deliverable items
Manages technical deliverables and ensures timely and quality delivery of products and services, mitigates risks, and executes corrective actions
Develops and leads strategic effort for the organization to increase efficiencies, quality, and transparency; while deducing time, risk, and burden of tasks
Mentors, trains, and guides the engineering team to grow their technical and organizational knowledge
Advises on all SELC activities and guides Digital Transformation and Innovation strategies
Organizes, directs, and manages technical support functions involving multiple, complex, and interrelated project tasks
Communicates at senior levels within a customer organization and meets with customer and contractor personnel to formulate, review, and execute technical requirements and engineering-related task plans, studies, analyses, reports, and deliverable items Basic Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in related field with 10 years or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field
Experience in developing and executing T&E strategy and plans in support of large, complex programs
Knowledge of DHS or DoD acquisition life cycle framework and systems engineering life cycle framework
Strong problem-solving skills, organizational skills, communication skills, and leadership skills
Self-motivated, proactive, independent performer who can perform well in a collaborative, team environment
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills along with customer interaction and presentation capabilities
Must exemplify a dedication to achieving the mission of the customer as well as high standards of quality and excellence in performing individual duties
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while being able to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines Compensation Range: $180k-$300k based on fit to skills above. Full benefits, 401k with 4% match.
