Early Refugee School Impact (RSI) Case Manager

Job description

Seeking a candidate to immediately join our Refugee Youth Mentorship Program as Early RSI Case Managers to support Pre-K immigrant and refugee children and their families, serving as liaisons between families, schools, and community-based resources .

Full-time position, 40 hours/week, non-exempt/hourly position, medical/dental/vision insurance eligibility, flexible spending account (FSA) program, paid time off, paid holidays, 403b tax-deferred retirement savings option, general hybrid field hours of 8:30am-4:30pm Monday through Friday with some flexibility outside of those hours based on program, family, and schools' needs

This program is currently funded through 6/30/2025 at which time we will evaluate the continuation of the position based on community needs and the continuation of funding. While the position cannot be guaranteed past this date, we intend to seek a continuation of funding to support these necessary services.

Work exclusively in a selected district agreed upon by the ESC and CRIS as it relates to the identified and eligible served communities

Responsible for identifying and collecting eligibility documents required by the ESC and ORR as defined in the grant

Work in hybrid settings including schools, family home settings as well as community settings

Develop a referral process and eligibility screening for all families

Work with the ESC to create and provide training opportunities for school or community based resources if needed

Maintain copies of the eligibility documents within each families case-file, and also maintain a log of all referred families and their eligibility status upon interviewing the family

Submit monthly and semi-annual reports to ESC, per grant's data requirements

Duties for the proposed case-managers include, but not limited to, the following:

1. Facilitating childcare access and capacity development

2. Providing age appropriate language literacy

3. Facilitating parent integration through education, and providing available resources or assisting in referrals to resources

4. Providing opportunities for parent engagement with peer supports or social groups, monitored by appropriate CRIS staff

5. Supporting early childhood education through programs that prepare children for schooling and their cognitive, social, and emotional growth

Requirements

Degree from a four-year university or 2 years of experience in a directly related profession

At least one year of experience working with refugees/immigrants

Strongly prefer experience supporting (Pre-K) children and families

Skilled in interpersonal and intercultural communication

Ability to be self-directed with position responsibilities

Resourceful, proactive problem-solving ability

Possess professional abilities in spoken and written English language

Preference for fluency in language/s spoken by the communities we serve, though not required

Strong organizational skills

Experience facilitating partnerships with schools and community social service providers

Experience working with diverse populations

Experience working with limited English-speaking communities and using language interpreters

Proficient skills with Microsoft Excel, Google Apps including Google Drive, e-mail, and internet

Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and current automobile insurance with clean driving record and willingness to drive clients

To be eligible to be added to CRIS' agency vehicle insurance and drive agency vehicles, the candidate must have or be willing to obtain an Ohio Drivers License, have at least 2 years of driving experience in the U.S., and a clean driving record assessed through a review of the Motor Vehicle Report
