What do we need?

We are looking for a legal biller to join our Accounting team! Our Accounting team has a customer-service approach to their work in supporting our clients. We are seeking candidates who enjoy detailed work but can easily accommodate client-specific requests. We are open to entry-level candidates with a background in Accounting/Business that are interested in learning about legal billing and also candidates that have some previous billing experience. Billing Specialists should be willing to work a remote or hybrid schedule from the DC metro area and/or willing to relocate to the DC metro area.

How will you make an impact?

  • Handling all aspects of the client billing process.
  • Assembling and distributing monthly pre-bills to assigned Attorneys.
  • Processing pre-bills with reference to master control log instructions which include client and Partner established billing guidelines and procedures.
  • Editing narratives, moving time and cost entries, processing write-offs following Firm policy.
  • Researching and resolving issues related to e-bill rejections for upload to various third-party systems.
  • Corresponding with clients in close consultation with assigned Billing Attorneys to resolve billing issues.
  • Researching and responding to inquiries regarding billing issues and problems; creating client spreadsheets and tracking budgets.
  • Assisting with month-end close out.
  • And more.
What will you bring to the role?
  • Bachelor s degree preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of Elite 3E preferred.
  • Ability to function within a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability to change and open to working with customized processes.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle a high volume workload.
  • Intermediate Excel experience with knowledge of formulas and vlookups.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


The good faith base salary range for this position is $50,000 to $75,000 per year.The actual salary rate offered to candidates within that range will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, years of relevant experience, education, and the candidate s overall qualifications for the position as assessed by the Firm.
