Summary
The Area Manager will be responsible for bidding on and winning new work, project-related compliance and reporting activities, such as tracking the advancement of the active projects, maintaining project schedules, analyzing the weekly revenue and cost data, change management, resource allocations and overall contract compliance. This position requires analytical thinking, excellent computer skills, and a working knowledge of the water/wastewater pipeline industry. The position will include management over a regional area of employees as well as active project management, safety mentorship and overall accountability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manages and directly supervises field staff and administration functions including, but not limited to compliance, equipment maintenance and support, overall project and regional financial management, budgeting, billing, purchasing, inventory, work control, safety, contract administration, and other management activities
Manages overall work execution, ensuring work is completed on time and in accordance with contract specifications
Makes decisions and recommendations regarding hiring, disciplinary actions, and promotions of assigned employees; reviews performance reports and rates employee performance; authorizes leaves and overtime; counsels employees on work related problems; and exercises authority for division
Review field daily work reports
Addresses compliants and resolves problems in a timely manner
Collect data and produce analysis of revenue, cost, Client and labor hours
Analyze project scope adherence during execution and determine variances and impact
Manage all contract compliance and financial issues
Assist in managing vendors, project material and material inventory as needed
Review and manage project costs for accuracy, ensure cost transfers and ensure corrections when needed
Manage and maintain accurate project schedules, estimates for labor, materials and other direct costs
Accurately report project performance, revenue, cost, accruals, and forecasts
Travel when necessary to complete projects, with on-site presence throughout duration of projects
Ensures Department of Transportation, Occupational Health and Safety Administration, and governmental compliance
Drive operational excellence by identifying process improvement opportunities and implementing strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
Serve as a liaison with clients, maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders
Lead a team of operation personnel to meet client objectives
Implement Operations Procedures, train new operators, and provide ongoing support
Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations by implementing robust safety protocols and conducting regular staff training sessions
Collaborate closely with the Safety Manager to ensure efficient completion of all safety training and keep detailed records of site safety requirements up to date
Responsible for maintaining an open, collaborative, team oriented work environment with peers, leaders, management, and team members
Ensures the safety of all team members by conducting safety meetings and inspections and providing documentation related to all safety issues
Develop and monitor specific metrics related to the areas and team members under your leadership
Properly code all invoices and forward to accounting for payment
Participate in company meetings

Education and/or Experience
A minimum of ten years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience
Ability to read and understand project scope as well as efficiently use a computer and company software
Proven leadership with the goal of optiminzing operational performance
Proven ability to effectively manage a diverse regional team
Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Must be willing to travel as needed
Strong organizational skills, high level of accuracy and be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Must have high level of confidentiality and a good understanding of general business practices
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities at one time
Proven written and verbal communications abilities; proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite
High-stress tolerance; must be able to thrive in a high-pressure environment
