Job Title: NCIS SQL Database AdministratorJob Location: Quantico VA 22134 HybridOn site Requirements :Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain a TS/SCISecurity+ CE CertSQL ServerJob Description:As a SQL DBA Administrator, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter.Our work depends on a SQL DBA Administrator joining our team to be a part of the team of men and women that solve some of the world's most complex technical challengesHow a Database Administrator will Make an Impact:As the SQL DBA Administrator, you will manage all current and planned SQL Server databases that support our customer's COTS applications. You will also be part of a team of systems administrators managing Windows Server 2016-2019, desktops, and printers. In addition:You will be responsible for the operations and maintenance of these databases. If additional databases are required in the future, the candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and implementing those databases, including database creation, security, access, backup and recovery, and documentation.You must be experienced with applying STIGs to SQL Server databases and be familiar with the impacts on the related applications.You must have excellent documentation skills, and will be responsible for creating related standards, operating procedures, and security documentationDatabase monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and tuningPerform administration and management of Microsoft SQL Server 2012-2019 and Microsoft SQL Reporting ServicesFamiliar with SQL Always-on setup and management and Microsoft Failover ClusteringPerform day-to-day monitoring and maintenance of SQL Server databases.Perform database and system performance monitoring and troubleshootingSSIS and PowerBI Reporting Server AdministrationOther SQL DBA duties as assignedAdditionally:Database backup and recoveryDevelop, document, and apply procedures for database backup and recoveryPerform scheduled and nonscheduled database backups and recovery with Microsoft SQL Server SSMS, or SQL CMDDatabase creation:Participate in the analysis of database solutions o Responsible for the definition, design, creation, and implementation of a database environment with respect to access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and securitySystems Administration:Evaluate and install new software releases, patches, and system upgradesIdentify and troubleshoot system issuesDevelop, document, and apply procedures for systems backup and recoveryMay program in an administrative language (PowerShell, VBS, etc.)Perform ACAS and SCAP scans and remediationAssist Tier 2 help desk with issues elevated to systems administratorsCreate and update user accounts, perform accounts management in Active DirectorySecurity and STIGs:Support the Certification and Accreditation process - run scans; resolve findings; document solutions, workarounds or provide justifications for exceptionsDocument, implement, and maintain database security policies in accordance with DISA STIG requirementsDocumentation:Define and oversee database standards, controls, procedures, and documentationCreate all documentation required for Release Management Framework (RMF)Complete planning and documentation prior to new integration or implementationWhat You'll Need to Succeed:Education:BS degree: additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degreeSecurity+ CE- must have before hireRequired Experience:5+ years of work experience administering MS SQL Server databases (SQL 2012 or newer)Experience with Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption in SQL ServerExperience administering SQL Server 2016-2019Required Technical Skills:5+ years of work experience administering MS SQL Server databases (SQL 2012 or newer)Experience with Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption in SQL ServerExperience administering SQL Server 2016-2019Required Skills and Abilities:Microsoft Server 2016 or higherMicrosoft SQL 2012 -2019High Availability of SQL ClusterPreferred Skills:Microsoft Server 2016 or higherMicrosoft SQL 2012 -2019** 3rd party and subcontract staffing agencies are not eligible for partnership on this position. 3rd party subcontractors need not apply.This position requires candidates to be eligible to work in the United States, directly for an employer, without sponsorship now or anytime in the future.This client is a US Federal Government contractor and is legally required to hire US Citizens.
