The Inova Cares Clinic for Children is looking for a dynamic energetic and Spanish bilingual Registered Nurse to join our family. This is a great opportunity to be a leader in ensuring our under and uninsured pediatric population has the services they need. Inova Cares Clinic for Children, a service of Inova Health System, was established in 1993 as a response to the inability of uninsured or Medicaid mothers to secure an affordable medical home for their children. Inova Cares falls under the mission of Inova Health System to improve the health of the diverse community we serve through excellence in patient care, education and research. We are recognized as an accredited Patient Centered Medical Home by the National Committee for Quality Assurance.
The Inova Cares Clinic for Children is located at 6400 Arlington Blvd., Falls Church, Virginia 22042
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, day shift 8:30-5:00 pm.
The Registered Nurse Outpatient provides safe/therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way in a physician practice or other outpatient setting. Incorporates differences into the provision of care while integrating knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families to include patient and family education. Achieves desired patient outcomes by using an integrated approach. Incorporates data and information to improve care and enhances outcomes while ensuring improvements in practice settings. Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a resource, preceptor and mentor.

Job Responsibilities
- Performs essential duties necessary to clinic or non-acute operations to include taking vitals, stocking exam rooms, giving vaccines, blood draws, etc.
- Formulates plans of care based on trends of similar patients including patient education and discharge planning. Identifies variances from expected outcomes. Evaluates patient outcomes and makes revisions to plans of care.
- Collaborates with patients/families to identify realistic desired outcomes. Adapts standards and guidelines for individual patients. Tailors and prioritizes caring practice to individual needs including cultural, ethical and spiritual needs. Participates in the planning of routine transitional healthcare needs (i.e. treatment options, patient placement options, end of life options). Responds to changes in patients' needs and provides holistic caring.
- Makes independent clinical decisions based on knowledge drawn from education and experience.
- Actively advocates for patients' rights and identifies potential conflicts.
- Ensures efficiency in the delivery of care. Determines immediate priorities and offers solutions for problems. Works with the team to achieve maximum productivity.
- Adapts planned educational programs and information to individual patients and families by modifying teaching strategies or content
- Documents all patient care activities as per documentation standards. Assists the healthcare team with the documentation process.
- Participates in work groups and/or committees. Keeps informed of initiatives and incorporates the outcomes of team or committee work into practice.
- Acts as a clinical resource and serves as a mentor to healthcare team members while displaying leadership behaviors.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Certification - Basic Life Support Upon Start
Licensure - Registered Nurse Upon Start Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment
Experience - 0 years of experience. 1 year of experience in Peds is preferred
Education: Bachelors Degree Nursing BSN. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 24 months of start date.
Other: - Communication / Speaking / Writing Proficient in English. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor toward others. Proficient computer skills are required. Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred.
