Work onsite as a member of the Highway Driving Simulator (HDS) team, supporting the Human Factors Laboratories at the Turner Fairbank Highway Research Center. The HDS conducts research using paid volunteers from the local area. The research is geared toward understanding the Human Factors safety and operation issues surrounding the nations highways. The HDS generates real-time driving scenarios around issues related to visibilty, speed, vehicle and infrastructure automation, innovated roadway designs, and other safety and operations topics.

The HDS is a diverse team of technicians, engineers, computer scientist, digital artists, and other technologist which together build, maintain, and operate the Highway Driving Simulator (HDS).

The current opening is for a Mid to Senior Level Software Engineer with 5+ years of experience with Unreal Engine. The ideal canidate will have used C++ / C# with Unreal Engine 5.x to generate real-time simulations either as Projector based, LED wall based or VR/AR/XR based systems.
