A bit about us:

We are a manufacturer looking for a benefits specialist to join our team. We are seeking someone who has worked heavily in the benefits enrollment space and who has a passion for the benefits side of the human resources umbrella. You will work with our team to create our open enrollment process in UKG, and assist with benefit invoicing and reconciling invoices. We are looking for someone well-versed in FMLA, COBRA, Life / Disability, and Medical / Dental / Vision benefit enrollment.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits.
2. Conduct benefits orientations and explain benefits self-enrollment systems.
3. Maintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction.
4. Assist employees with health, dental, life and other related benefit claims.
5. Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims, and costs. Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
6. Review and respond to appeals and complaints regarding the employee benefits program.
7. Coordinate and conduct the wellness initiatives for employees.
8. Assist in the preparation and execution of benefit documentation such as original and amended plan texts, benefit agreements, and insurance policies.
9. Instruct insurance carriers, trustees, and other administrative agencies outside the company to effect changes in benefits program. Ensure prompt and accurate compliance.
10. Assure company compliance with provisions of Employee Retirement Income Security Act and the Affordable Care Act. Supervise preparation of reports and applications required by law to be filed with federal and state agencies, such as Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor, insurance commissioners, and other regulatory agencies.
11. Review and analyze changes to state and federal laws pertaining to benefits, and report necessary or suggested changes to management.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
2. 3+ years of experience in Benefits Administration is required.
3. Knowledge of FLSA, FMLA, OSHA, and COBRA regulations.
4. Experience in creating and implementing benefits programs.
5. Experience in Medical / Dental / Vision Enrollment.
6. Benefit invoice experience is a plus.
7. Proficiency in using UKG or related HRIS.
8. Retirement benefits experience is an added bonus.
9. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
10. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
11. High level of attention to detail.
12. Ability to work independently and within a team.
