Job description
The Network Security Engineer (NSE) will support the Inmarsat Government Cyber team with meeting operational security objectives by applying gained expertise to a variety of information and network technologies. This position plays a critical role in achieving the goal of enforcing our corporate Cyber posture to ensure ongoing secure operations. The NSE will work with internal business units to understand system requirements, provide security recommendations, and implement solutions to ensure security.The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background in network security engineering and be experienced in developing and maintaining secure network infrastructures. We require a minimum of 3 years of experience in network security engineering, along with an in-depth understanding of routing, switching, and network security protocols.Position ResponsibilitiesSpearhead efforts to continually improve security on terrestrial networksRespond to and investigate security alerts and incidentsMaintain and administer perimeter security systemsConduct analysis of network security needs and contribute to design, integration, and installation of hardware and software.Collaborate with Engineering departments to examine attack vectors and implement preventative controlsPrepare and present technical reports / briefings related to internal and customer security initiativesStay up to date on the latest network security products and services, industry best practices, and customer needsPosition RequirementsPositive attitude and highly motivatedDemonstrated experience working with networking products and technologiesAdvanced knowledge of firewall technologiesAn understanding of adversarial networking attack tactics and mitigative actionsAbility to effectively apply security to the system engineering processExperience with policy creation and process applicationActive SECRET clearanceCyber certification (CISSP, CCNP Security, CCSP)Preferred Skills & KnowledgeExperience with DoD / ICActive TOP SECRET clearanceHistory of working within cloud environmentsExperience ensuring systems meet and comply with RMF standardsUnderstanding of PKI management systemsHands on experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Fortinet, Juniper, and/or Forcepoint devicesInmarsat Government is an Equal Opportunity Employer
