Job description
Oversee all direct wound care activities to assure practices are consistent Identify, plan, implement, and evaluate skin care in residents. Manage and treat specific skin disorders. Coordinates weekly skin rounds Perform assessment evaluations using techniques including observation, and inspection. Confer with the Care Planning Team in the development of the care plan. Provide treatment for skin disorders within established wound care protocol. Monitor the use of preventive measures such as inspection, turning and positioning. Precept new nurses and demonstrate individual procedures to new nursing personnel Order and tracks the usage of supplies/equipment in prevention and treatment. Assist in modifying the treatment regimen to meet the needs of the resident, in accordance with established medical practices, the regulatory guidelines and the policies and goals of this facility.
