Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Test Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive testing on technically complex software applications. This role requires a deep understanding of system requirements, the ability to derive and develop test cases, and proficiency in executing detailed test procedures. Evaluate and interpret system requirements and capabilities to develop comprehensive test cases.
Design and implement test procedures to validate and verify system functionalities and performance.
Execute tests on complex software applications and document the results, providing thorough recommendations for improvements.
Maintain and update detailed documentation of test workflows and procedures.
Collaborate with the test team, contributing to test reviews and providing critical feedback to enhance test processes. Required Qualifications:
Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with CI Poly preferred; Top Secret eligible to obtain CI Poly.
Experience: Minimum of 6 years in software application testing, with a solid understanding of unit and system testing processes.
Proven experience in developing test plans, procedures, expected outcomes, and verification statements.
Hands-on experience with Playwright or similar automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium).
In-depth knowledge of Agile and DevOps methodologies and cultures.
Strong understanding of software lifecycle management and application development task planning.
Ability to anticipate and address complexities in the software development life cycle.
Proficiency in JIRA/Confluence (or equivalent) and MS Excel.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Education: B.S. or M.S. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Quality Engineering, or a related technical field. Preferred Qualifications:
Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Poly.
Security+ certification.
Familiarity with Java, particularly in reading and understanding code for testing purposes.
Experience with modern web client technologies and understanding front-end to back-end interactions.
Background in developing/testing software using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Ability to thrive under aggressive timelines, work effectively in a team environment, and demonstrate initiative and independence.
