Job description

Job Overview: The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Language Program Manager to join our NGA University team. This role will involve the coordination and management of language training programs, administration of language proficiency testing, and processing of language pay for NGA personnel. The ideal candidate will have a background in the Department of Defense (DoD) or Intelligence Community (IC) in areas such as foreign languages, language administration, or foreign affairs. Key Responsibilities: Language Training Coordination: Develop, implement, and manage language training programs tailored to meet the needs of NGA personnel. Collaborate with language instructors and training vendors to ensure the highest quality of instruction and training materials. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of language training programs, making adjustments as necessary to improve outcomes. Testing Administration: Administer and oversee language proficiency testing for NGA personnel.
Ensure tests are conducted in a secure and standardized manner.
Evaluate test results and provide feedback to both participants and their supervisors. Language Pay Processing: Manage the process for language pay entitlements for eligible personnel. Ensure accurate and timely submission of documentation and compliance with relevant policies and regulations. Liaise with HR and payroll departments to resolve any issues related to language pay. Program Management: Maintain accurate records of all language training, testing, and pay activities.
Prepare and present reports on program status, effectiveness, and recommendations for improvement.
Stay current with developments in language training and testing methodologies and integrate best practices into NGA s programs. Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for all language-related inquiries within the agency.
Coordinate with other departments, agencies, and external partners to support language program initiatives.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and language proficiency within NGA. Qualifications: Mandatory: Current TS/SCI clearance. Background in DoD or IC, with experience in foreign languages, language administration, and/or foreign affairs. Preferred: Bachelor s degree in a relevant field such as linguistics, language studies, international relations, or a related discipline. Proven experience in managing language programs within a government or military setting. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
