SCCI is currently seeking an Accounting/Payroll Specialist to join our team. If you have an interest in payroll, financial and cost accounting in a Government contracting environment this may be the job for you! In this position you will provide support to SCCI's Director of Finance and work on a team with billers, accounts payable clerks and cost accountants on a daily basis. This position is located at our Corporate Office in Fredrick, MD.

Responsibilities:
  • Compilation of monthly accounts receivable aged trial balance
  • Record Cash Receipts, Cash Transfers, and Other Miscellaneous Deposits
  • Perform Monthly Bank Reconciliations
  • Preparation of weekly accounts payable aged trial balance review
  • Preparation of weekly cash requirements
  • Reconciling various general ledger accounts
  • Preparing all month-end journal entries
  • Reviewing and posting various system journals
  • Reconciling unbilled accounts receivable balances
  • Accounting for and reconciling all prepaid assets
  • Generating the bi-weekly payroll
  • Provide weekly labor reports to management
  • Conducting fixed asset inventory counts and maintaining the fixed asset accounting records
  • Assisting the Director of Finance in the preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Other duties as needed to support daily accounting operations
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • Three (3) - Five (5) years of continuous experience in general ledger accounting
  • Prior experience applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP) for accrual based accounting
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to

  • Previous experience working in a government contracting environment
