Handyman / Maintenance Tech

Job description

City Wide Facility Solutions is growing and needs to add more Maintenance Techs/Handymen to handle general facility repairs, preventive maintenance, and minor construction projects at City Wide managed buildings throughout Central Maryland.


Responsibilities - just a partial list:


+ Perform maintenance and light repairs


+ Paint and fill gaps or crevices (on walls, sidewalks etc.)


+ Undertake light installation or carpentry (e.g. build cabinets, shelves)


+ Repair equipment or appliances


+ Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls etc.


+ Install appliances and equipment


+ Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance


+ Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint etc. and finish painting


+ Replace light fixtures and / or ballasts; other minor electrical work


+ Drywall repair


+ Furniture assembly


Requirements


+ Proven experience as handyman/Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment


+ Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing or HVAC systems


+ Basic math skills


+ Good communication ability


+ Well-organized and good at problem-solving


+ Attention to detail


+ High school diploma or equivalent


+ Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)


+ Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulk guns etc.)


+ Must possess vehicle, basic hand and power tools
