Senior Corporate Counsel

Job description

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a SeniorCorporate Counsel to support its business operations. The Corporate Counsel reports directly to the Company's Deputy General Counsel, Business Operations and works closely with Peraton's sector leadership and other members of the Legal Department, advising them on internal operations, including matters related to government contracting, data privacy and cybersecurity, and international and trade compliance.

Primary areas of responsibility include:
  • Government Contracting - work closely with other members of the Legal Department, Contracts, Procurement and Sector leadership and program teams to support the company's contract and procurement activities, including advising on contract, subcontract and teaming agreement negotiation and execution issues, contract claims and disputes, bid protests and organizational conflicts of interest issues.
  • Data Privacy and Cybersecurity - advise the company on privacy and data protection matters for our businesses in the United States and around the world, including compliance with appliable federal, state and non-US laws; developing and implementing privacy policies and procedures, including on US and non-US requirements and on emerging areas such as artificial intelligence; provide legal support on incident responses, data mapping and inventory, risk assessments, and training and awareness programs.
  • International and Trade Compliance - advise the company on doing business outside the United States, including compliance with local laws, import/export laws and regulations including International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and economic sanctions.

Qualifications

The position requires a minimum of 10 years of overall professional experience with a minimum of 5 years of experience specialized in federal procurement. Substantial in-house experience in the federal contracting industry, experience in the areas of trade compliance and privacy/cybersecurity and excellent law school credentials are highly desirable.

Bar: Juris Doctor and a member in good standing of the bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

Security clearance: possession of or eligibility to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
