SUMMARY

The Donor Relations Temp will work with the Associate Director of Donor Relations, the Donor Relations Manager, and the Development Team to advance the effective management of all fundraising and donor stewardship aspects. The Donor Relations Temp will assist with the daily office functions of the Marketing and Development Unit with professionalism, confidentiality, and accuracy. S/he will communicate effectively with donors, multitask, be a team player, and adapt to changes.

OUTCOMES

Direct Mail and Digital Donors

* All donations are processed within a 24-hour period (excluding weekends and holidays).

* Returned mail is sorted, and addresses are updated.

* Prayer cards are sent to donors in response to notes on response devices.

* Acknowledgement letters for grants and IRA letters are sent out within 24 hours of the gift being entered into the database.

* Donor emails and voicemails are responded to within 24 hours (excluding weekends and holidays).

* Donor-requested materials are shipped within 24 hours (excluding weekends and holidays).

PRE-REQUISITES

Required

* Associate degree in Communication, Marketing, Business, or another related area

* At least two years of related experience or equivalent combinations of formal education/training and experience

* Appropriate work experience may be acceptable in lieu of a degree

Skills and Abilities

* Excellent customer service skills

* Some Raiser's Edge experience or an aptitude to learn donor relations management tool

* Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with donors

* Demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent organizational and analytical skills

* Ability to manage simultaneous and multiple tasks under pressure

* Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints

* Must be able to effectively handle confidential information/situations

* Demonstrated ability to work as a team player to accomplish team goals and adapt to changes

* Ability to take the initiative to solve problems and own their assigned tasks

RESPONSIBILITIES

Functional Responsibilities

* Answer ADRA's 800 line

* Scan batch components for storage per ADRA's retention policy

* Troubleshoot donor/donation-related issues

* Assist with reviewing the accuracy of deposits prepared by Caging Service and/or Donor Relations staff

* Assist with ADRA's supporter communications channels, including email and phone, and ensure inquiries receive a response within 24 hours (except weekends and holidays)

* Send out prayer cards, memorial letters, donor-requested materials, etc.

* Process credit card phone donations and assist with monthly donor credit card changes as needed

* Maintain confidentiality of the work performed in Donor Relations, donor information and financial records, and any information deemed confidential

* Perform other duties as assigned
