Summary of Role

The Center for Audit Quality (CAQ) is looking for a Marketing Manager to join our team and support the CAQ's diversity initiatives, including Accounting+, an integrated marketing campaign aimed at changing diverse students' misperceptions about accounting. The Marketing Manager will work with a talented group of mission-driven marketing and communications professionals both at the CAQ and among our partner agencies to reshape the way the next generation thinks about accounting. Put simply: make accounting cool again! Although primarily focused on supporting Accounting+, the Marketing Manager may also support other CAQ initiatives as necessary in line with the responsibilities outlined below.

This position is tailor-made for a creative thinker who understands how to leverage the power of digital to drive audiences to action, can effectively coordinate across various stakeholder groups, and is passionate about creating opportunities for traditionally under-represented groups.

The Marketing Manager is responsible for helping to design, implement, and strengthen the CAQ's Accounting+ campaign. They will play a critical role in leading the Accounting+ content strategy, paid media, social media and website, and strategic partnerships. Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing and Stakeholder Engagement, the Marketing Manager has a visible, hands-on, and tactical role that strengthens the accounting profession's diverse talent pipeline.

About the CAQ

CAQ is a nonpartisan public policy organization serving as the voice of U.S. public company auditors and matters related to the audits of public companies. To achieve our mission, we:

Promote high-quality performance by U.S. public company auditors;

Convene capital market stakeholders to advance the discussion of critical issues affecting audit quality, U.S. public company reporting, and investor trust in the capital markets;

Informed by independent research and analyses, champion policies and standards that bolster and support the effectiveness and responsiveness of U.S. public company auditors and audits to dynamic market conditions.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities Include:

Campaign Oversight and Coordination, Project Management, and Reporting (40%)

Oversee day-to-day agency partner relationships and coordinate project plans, timelines and budgets to ensure campaign deliverables are on-track and of high quality.

Work closely with Accounting+ plus leads across our funding partner organizations to provide campaign updates, source storytellers, identify integration opportunities and coordinate partner reviews of relevant material.

Manage annual market research programs to track campaign effectiveness and deliver insights that inform campaign planning and execution, including secondary research, message testing, and online focus groups.

Report campaign performance and results to the CAQ and other critical stakeholders.

Support executive communications to internal stakeholders, Accounting+ partners, and the public, including the development of the Accounting+ Annual Report and board materials.

Content Marketing & Partnerships (40%)

Manage the Accounting+ editorial calendar, and lead the content planning, creation and execution for owned and paid channels.

Oversee external agency partners and evaluate creative content for paid and owned channels, providing reviews, feedback and approvals through established tools (e.g. Khoros or web CMS).

Manage the development and execution of social media, email and publisher partner communications, including drafting of content as needed.

Oversee influencer and content partner programs, ensuring campaign messages are pulled through.

Drive the evolution of existing marketing tactics and develop recommendations for future high-impact programs to help Accounting+ reach its goals.

Paid Media (20%)

Act as steward of campaign budget by overseeing creative, media mix, budget allocation and targeting.

Review campaign performance metrics and report results to CAQ and important stakeholders.

Partner with agency to evaluate new partners and tactics for consideration.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None

Travel Required

10% travel time for DC-based hires.

Responsibilities may require more frequent travel to home office in DC for non-DC residents.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

Experience in multi-cultural marketing, managing brands and marketing programs targeted at multi-cultural audiences.

Team player with ability to work collaboratively across diverse CAQ staff and coordinate with external campaign partners. Teamwork makes the dream work.

Strong, positive interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to CAQ staff, members' staff, and other key constituencies.

Exceptional project management skills, organization and attention to detail.

Good sense of humor. Accounting is more fun than you think.

Required Experience, Qualifications & Education

Bachelor's degree

5-7 years of related experience.

Experience working closely with multi-cultural marketing and strategy development.

Preferred Experience, Qualifications & Education

Experience at a multi-cultural marketing firm is a plus but not required.
