Responsibilities As a/n Business Data Analyst, some of your typical work assignments may include: Analyzing specific data, data validation, and visualization, and operates appropriate systems for managing data storage on behalf of OPP. Utilizing business analytics tools to create reports and analyses, graphs, pivot tables, and narratives. Performing data analysis tasks to extract meaningful insights from datasets, supporting evidence-based decision-making. Identifying, analyzing, and extracting data from a variety of source databases as well as performing data analysis and improving program effectiveness and efficiency. Creating reports, dashboards, and data visualization to improve decision-making and increase operational efficiency. Providing management with data-driven business insights to enhance decision-making. Utilizing detailed record-keeping skills to maintain records of data governance activities, compliance assessments, and actions taken to address issues. Information technology management, especially in business process concepts and methods sufficient to leading and conducting studies designed to identify potential improvements, principles and approaches for sharing information through the use of IT assets. You must have one full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 level. Specialized experience is defined as: Specialized experience is defined as: Experience in analyzing and organizing data, utilizing data for analysis, project management, and generating reports using PowerBi. Proficiency in data analysis tools and languages such as SQL and Excel, and other Microsoft Office tools to develop various types of reports, charts and graphs is preferred. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
