Description

Job Purpose & Summary

The business operations specialist collaborates with key stakeholders across the business to enhance operational systems and processes. The specialist contributes to organizational success by ensuring the company's daily operations and processes run efficiently and effectively and in alignment with business needs and objectives. The business operations team falls within the oversight of the Chief Operating Officer. This position is a non-supervisory position.

Duties & Responsibilities (but not limited to)

  • Collect, organize, report, and analyze business data to identify areas of concern and provide insights and recommendations to management
  • Analyze and evaluate business processes, design improvements, and implement solutions that increase efficiency, quality, productivity, and cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify requirements and implement standardized processes, policies, and procedures to increase efficiency across the organization
  • Identify areas of inefficiency, waste, or redundant activities and propose solutions to enhance productivity and cost-effectiveness
  • Drafts recommended guidelines, procedures, and internal controls for management consideration to ensure high performance programs
  • Research implications of proposed company and customer policies to program performance, service delivery, team morale, and overall business operations
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of systems, dashboards, and databases to collect, analyze and communicate operational data to assist management with decision making
  • Continuously monitor and provide recommended solutions to optimize company processes and business systems
  • Design and implement training programs to educate employees on new operational processes and procedures
  • Provide support and assistance to other departments on operational and procedural issues as they arise
  • Actively plan and execute formalized business operations programs and informal projects
  • Provide expertise and support for special projects improving business performance as assigned
  • Assist with M&A activities
  • Local travel and CONUS travel as needed
Qualifications

Qualifications/Skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Experience leading projects from planning to execution within mid to large complex organizations
  • Strong knowledge of business process analysis, design, and optimization
  • Ability to interface with key stakeholders at all levels and develop productive working relationships to achieve performance objectives
  • Energetic, resourceful, driven, and have the personal ownership to thrive in an unstructured environment
  • Demonstrated record of high performance and success
  • Professional experience in data modeling, analysis, and visualization is highly desired
  • Independent self-starter, proactive, professional, and assertive
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; verbal and written
  • Demonstrate a high level of professional confidentiality
  • Available to work before/after typical office hours as requirements demand
  • Strong proficiency in common office software, such as Excel, is required
Clearance
  • Top Secret desired, but not required
  • Subject to CI Polygraph based on random program requirements
Years of Experience/Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or a minimum of 4 years applicable work experience
  • Applicable work experience must include hands on application of skills across a diverse set of business administration functions such as finance, contracting, human resources, program management, marketing, corporate communications, etc.
