Discover Impactful Work:

The CPFF (Cost Plus Fixed Fee) Accounting Manager reports directly to the Director of Finance and oversees the accounting operations of Fisher BioServices' CPFF government contracts. This includes overseeing the CPFF revenue recognition and billings, maintenance of CAS Disclosure Statement and Incurred Cost Submission to the government.

A day in the Life:
  • Manage, coach and develop the CPFF billing team to enable professional and technical growth
  • Review and complete monthly CPFF revenue recognition procedures
  • Review and approve invoices for CPFF contracts
  • Prepare and submit monthly project P&L statements
  • Monitor actual monthly indirect rates and prepare adjusting entries accordingly
  • Oversee project close-out process
  • Prepare and submit the annual Incurred Cost Information
  • Analyze all direct project costs/fee/revenue data; monitor project budgets and progress; provide results with Project Directors to ensure projects achieve financial expectations
  • Maintain open communication with direct management regarding financial results and ensure Project Directors and other senior personnel are aware of risks and opportunities identified during project financial tracking, revenue review, & A/R
  • Drive financial results through monitoring key metrics and working with functional business partners to ensure deliverables are met
  • Support business partners by providing analytical support, challenges, and advise to ensure that business processes, pricing, and investments are aligned to deliver annual operating goals
  • Supervise finance and accounting leadership to ensure complete, accurate, and timely reporting and financial support, consistent with GAAP and SoX, requirements as well as company policies
  • Responsible for ensuring that Government cost-reimbursable type contracts are being operated in a manner consistent with Government accounting FAR requirements
  • Responsible for reporting and explaining financial information for internal and external customers, including monthly and quarterly business reviews
  • Provide business support through metric development, forecasting models, and strategic analysis
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve internal processes to ensure sufficient support for changing business dynamics; meet with business partners, understand needs and develop execution plans for improvement
  • Serve as a business partner - Build strong organizational alliances and work to proactively understand and mitigate risk and capture opportunities
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs
Supervisory Responsibility
  • Manages finance, accounting functions (AP, AR, Government Accounting, Payroll), materials management, as well as indirect support for other functions.
Education/Experience
  • Requires a four-year degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Requires 7+ years of progressive experience in Accounting or Finance.
  • Requires understanding of connection between business processes and accounting processes.
  • Prefer additional designations such as CPA, CFA, or MBA .
  • Requires experience with cost-reimbursable government contracts.
  • Requires experience with FASB, Government cost-reimbursable accounting requirements.
  • Prefer experience with standard cost models.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment
  • Must be able to use a computer up to 8 hours per day.
  • Must be able to travel to local sites as needed.
