Federal Acquisition Finance Specialist

Job description

Assist in the preparation, management, and execution of financial and budget plans, research and analyze budget related matters, and provide operational and administrative support for a Federal agency program. Support program and project acquisition management specific budgets, including support for budget planning, tracking, reporting and analysis of all program and project funds, benefits realization, earned value management, Capital Planning and Investment Program (CPIC), cost/benefit analysis, OMB Exhibit 300 process and documentation, resource allocation planning (RAP) and Program Assessment Rating Tool (PART) updates.

Required Skills

  • Familiarity with finance and statistical analysis software.
  • Knowledge of Federal financial and accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of Federal acquisition terms and concepts.
  • Knowledge of INVEST, ACEIT, and life cycle cost estimate tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Job Duties

  • Provide support to the Federal budget and finance lead in compiling budget and finance data, and creating budget and financial reporting documents (spreadsheets, presentations, etc.).
  • Prepare summaries and detail briefings from data compiled from various budget sources such as the Federal Financial Management System (FFMS), data within the department and agency budget offices, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide support for the office financial reconciliation efforts. Assist with the identification of errors, duplications, or omissions within existing financial documents and provide recommendations for corrective action.
  • Document the customer invoicing and payment process specific to the office.
  • Provide financial analysis and accounting support to ensure audit readiness and compliance.
  • Provide support for the coordination and maintenance of budget dashboards to ensure funding requirements have been met.

Experience and Education Qualifications

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in financial support activities.

Minimum of a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.

Work Location

100% remote supporting a Federal Government agency in Vienna, VA.
