The ideal candidate has previous experience in a healthcare setting reviewing clinical notes and managing denials.

salary: $20 - $25 per hour

shift: First

work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM

Responsibilities

+ Receive requests: Receive requests for prior authorizations through the electronic health record (EHR), phone, or fax

+ Verify insurance: Verify the patient's insurance coverage and benefits, and confirm procedure coverage

+ Submit records: Submit medical records to insurance carriers and clinical information to third party payers

+ Communicate: Manage correspondence with insurance companies, physicians, specialists, and patients

+ Track progress: Track the status of prior authorization requests from initial submission through final insurance determination

+ Document: Document account activity using correct medical and billing codes

+ Follow up: Follow up on missing or incorrect information

+ Appeal: Appeal insurance companies after prior authorization refusals
