Title:
Behavior Technician
Salary Range: $23.25 - 25.96 p/hour
Report to: District BCBA's and Assigned Student Services Coordinator

Job Objective: Responsible for 1:1 implementation of BCBA-created BIPs for students and data collection for FBA's, consultations, and ongoing monitoring of BIPs. Following training, provide ongoing coaching for district paraprofessionals and staff on how to directly implement individualized behavior plans and behavior support strategies designed by a district BCBA.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma
  • Meets all mandated health requirements (negative TB test, etc)
  • Documentation of a clear criminal record and drug test
  • Will comply with the drug-free workplace rules and board policies
  • Ability to physically manage students when escalated
  • 2+ years experience implementing behavior supports

Note: Appointment requires successful completion and periodic renewal of state-mandated and service center training requirements (e.g., communicable disease, child abuse, CPR, first aid, and/or behavioral management training).

Note: This assignment may require a valid driver's license, access/availability of a reliable vehicle, and/or completion of van driver training. Employees must meet all prerequisite and ongoing qualifications to be covered by the service center's insurance carrier.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Works with the district BCBA to implement behavior plans
  • Required to implement individual behavior plans to ensure student success under the direction of district BCBA.
  • Coaches paraprofessional how to directly implement designed treatment plans related to skill- acquisition and behavior reduction
  • Complete observations and data collections under the supervision of the district BCBA
  • Assists in coaching district staff on collecting data
  • Provides feedback to staff on the implementation of behavior plans
  • Communicates with school team, parents, and other team members
  • Attends district meetings when applicable
  • Attends ETR, IEP, and FBA meeting when appropriate
