National Retina Institute is searching for an enthusiastic, patient focused, full time Medical Front Desk Representative for our office in Owings Mills, Md. For more information, please visit our webpage at .The Patient Services Representative I will perform routine clerical and administrative work including greeting and assisting patients, insurance verification, management of appointment schedule and accurate record-keeping. The PSR has a significant role as you serve as the initial point of contact and make the first impression on all patients visiting the office. This is especially important in a medical environment where people may be apprehensive. Effective execution of this role will require the ability to multitask and respond to the needs of the patients and other staff efficiently and calmly.Greet and welcome all patients and visitors upon arrival to clinicFollow all practice policies and procedures for thorough and complete check in and check out processUtilize multiple methods of data collection including paper, electronic, kiosk, and web-based applicationsConfirm that accurate patient demographic and insurance information has been collected and update if necessaryConfirm insurance eligibility and verify active and participating coverageAccurately calculate and collect patient co-payments, deductibles, and due balancesSchedule return appointments and set up reminder notificationsProfessionally assist doctor, staff, patients and visitorsMaintain confidentiality of all doctor, staff and patient informationResponsible for keeping the reception area clean and organizedAssist with maintaining proper inventory levels of retail items (if applicable)Answer inbound and outbound phone calls with appropriate telephone etiquetteHandle sensitive information in a confidential mannerExecute duties of position in a professional and courteous mannerAccept incoming packages/postal mail including insurance mail, patient correspondence, interoffice mail, and direct to appropriate internal recipientsMust be willing to travel between locations to support front office operations (only applicable for multi-location practices)Must be willing to work early mornings, late evenings, and weekends as required to support business needsOther duties as assignedHigh school diploma or equivalent is requiredMust be compassionate and can establish confidence and trust with patientsMust have the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure or stressHighly energetic with a positive attitudePossess strong attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skillsCreate and maintain positive interpersonal relationshipsAbility to perform as part of a team as well as work independentlyOne or more years experience working in a medical practice preferredKnowledge of medical and vision and insurances preferredBasic computer knowledge requiredExperience with NextGen, Microsoft, Clearwave preferredIn Turn We Will Provide:Competitive hourly payBenefits to full time team members that include comprehensive medical, dental and optical coverage, 401k and short and long term disabilityCompany paid life insurancePaid holidays and generous paid time offPaid parking where applicableTeam oriented working environment where you are heard and respectedClear career ladder opportunities#ESP2
