Developer, Oracle Data Conversion/Migration

Job Summary:

Next Generation, Inc, an Equal Opportunity Employer, is seeking a full-time, long-term Developer for Oracle ERP Cloud Data Conversion, to play a crucial role in the successful migration of data into Oracle ERP Cloud. Responsibilities will include conducting the data conversion, ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and completeness of data migration efforts. This is a hybrid position based in Alexandria, Virginia and will require on-site visits.

Job responsibilities:

Data Extraction: Extract data from various source system, such as flat files, spreadsheets, legacy database, and external APIs. Develop and optimize SQL queries and scripts to retrieve data efficiently

Data Transformation: Perform data cleansing, validation, and transformation to ensure data quality. Convert data from soure formats to Oracle-compatible formats. Apply business rules and data mapping to align source data with target data structures.

Data Loading: Design and Implement data loading procedures using Oracle tools. Monitor and optimize data loading processes to improve performance and efficiency.

Data Mapping: Create data mapping documents that define how data from source systems will be mapped to the target Oracle database. Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to validate data mapping and transformation rules.

ETL Development: Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using standard tools. Handle data integration tasks including data aggregation, enrichment and consolidation

Error Handling: Implement error-handling mechanisms to identify and address data conversion issues. Monitor and log data conversion errors, and create processes for error resolution

Performance Tuning: Optimize data conversion and ETL processes for performance and scalability. Identify and address bottlenecks in data conversion workflows.

Data Quality Assurance: Conduct data quality assessments to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the converted data. Implement data validation and data quality checks to identify and rectify anomalies.

Documentation: Create documentation for data conversion processes, including data dictionaries, process flowcharts, and technical specifications.

Testing and Validation: Plan and execute data conversion testing, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing

Data Security: Implement data security measures to protect sensitive and confidential information during the data conversion process. Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and company policies.

Job requirements:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.

7+ years industry experience, 3+ of which should be in Oracle Cloud projects.

Proven experience as Data Conversion Developer with a focus on Oracle ERP Cloud data migration.

Strong knowledge of Oracle ERP Cloud data structures and data migration tools.

Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams, business analysts and stakeholders

Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
