Sr. Software Engineer

Designs and develops new software products or major enhancements to existing software and/or application programs. Researches and integrates design strategies, product specifications, development schedules, and user expectations into product capabilities. Uses software development technologies and tools to build, test, and maintain product modules, components, and subsystems. Utilizes knowledge of one or more platforms and operating systems, and of programming languages such as C and C++. Addresses problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms. Performs feasibility analysis on potential future projects to management. Works with customers and technical staff to resolve problems with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements. Participates in development of software user manuals. May interact with customers, vendors, and external development partners. Utilizes specialized depth and breadth of expertise in discipline or function; individual contributor recognized as a subject matter expert. Solves a full range of complex problems. Interprets internal/external issues and recommends innovative solutions and/or best practices. Provides advanced analytical support to management team. Leads projects or project steps of varying size and has accountability for ongoing activities related to projects. Serves as trusted resource for management.
