Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain software engineering solutions for the Personal Lines IT Underwriting unit, including providing application development, coding, and quality assurance support. Coordinate development activities with business and engineering teams to ensure usability and functionality of personal lines products, services, and systems. Analyze application development and solution needs for property and casualty systems, including the Underwriting domain. Provide object-oriented and mainframe programming and deployment support throughout the software development lifecycle. Apply structured and unstructured data management processes including transformation, security, conversion, and archiving. Support data integration activities including analysis, design, and automation.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or other related technical field. Five years of application development experience within the insurance and underwriting domain. Experience must include the following:

  • Mainframe development using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and Linux
  • Object-oriented programming using Java/J2EE and C, and either Ruby or Python
  • Batch processing using SOAP Web Services, REST APIs, File/SFTP, UNIX, and Spring
  • Data management using tools including SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and DB2


This position offers a hybrid work schedule and is based at our headquarters in Columbus, OH.
