JOB SUMMARY:

Plan, schedule, direct and execute multiple projects at a time, including highly complex cross-functional projects.

ESSENTIAL/PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Identify and prioritize critical project milestones and deliverables collaboratively with teammates.
  • Develop project plans specifying goals, strategy, and staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans and allocation of available resources.
  • Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones and required tasks.
  • Gather feedback from teammates to track progress and mitigate risk on a continuous basis.
  • Establish standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.
  • Modify standard engineering procedures and criteria and standardize work as needed.
  • Prepare project status reports and facilitate technical meetings/design reviews.
  • Confer with project and functional personnel to resolve problems.
  • Coordinate requests for changes from original specifications and timelines.
  • Develop and maintain technical and project documentation.
  • Coordinate project activities teammates to ensure goals and requirements are met.
  • Work with functional engineering and product management to successfully complete engineering projects.
  • Scope projects and ensure proper customer knowledge exists on the team to satisfy customer needs.
  • Work with product management on immersion and customer data input to team.
  • Deliver customer value in product engineering project deliverables.
  • (Midmark RTLS) Additioinal duties:
    • Ensure the Midmark RTLS Technical training curriculum is in alignment with product changes
    • Ensure KPI's for Software Engineering and Technical Education are aggregated, evaluated and posted monthly, addressing any downtrends in quality or productivity
    • Supervise the Technical Education teammates, including definition and delivery of strategies for formal in-class, on-line and remote training courses / material
    • Drive the definition, scope and structure of Technical Course material ensuring alignment with release of new products or features
    • Provide Rules Engineering Leadership with focuses on Standardization, Best Practices, Knowledge, Education and Testing/Validation
SECONDARY DUTIES:
  • Provide functional managers with feedback and development opportunities for those participating on Product Engineering design teams.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor degree in engineering field preferred. At least 6 years of related experience preferred. Minimum 2 years management/supervision/mentorship experience. Engineering or Operations background and process development preferred.
  • Product Management Professional (PMP) certification not required but will likely by acquired with future experience.
COMPETENCY/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Knowledge of product development process, requirements and regulatory processes.
  • Highly detail oriented, organized and organizationally knowledgeable.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite of tools.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate complex systems into products.
  • Ability to influence positive outcomes to meet goals at an organizational level.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills within a recent role.
  • Led projects within engineering or a closely related field.
  • Has expanded engineering and organizational awareness by completing rotational assignments in different departments/divisions throughout the organization, preferred.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • May have direct reports
