Logistics Specialist I

A Logistics Specialist I is responsible for coordinating and managing the logistical operations of an organization. They play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient movement and distribution of goods and services. Their duties may include overseeing inventory management, coordinating transportation and shipping, tracking and tracing shipments, managing supply chain processes, and maintaining accurate records. The Logistics Specialist I collaborates with internal teams, vendors, and customers to meet delivery schedules, resolve any logistical issues, and optimize overall operational efficiency. They must have strong organizational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Logistics Specialist II Responsibilities Include:
  • Assists in drafting of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Contract file documents, Memorandums, and weekly logistics reports.
  • Assists in the tracking of all Purchase Requests and Contracts submitted.
  • Assists with the annual, quarterly, and monthly inventory of DS/C and its subordinate offices equipment and controlled loaned DoD/OGA (classified) and DS assets, and the movement of armored vehicles, equipment and systems for use at National test facilities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Electronic Countermeasures (ECM), Contingency Communications Radios (CCR), and vehicle-based Mobile Video recording Systems (MVS), Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), and radar based Indirect Fire early warning systems (Sense and Warn).
  • Provide training for overseas Field Service Representatives and Logisticians on the use of CMMS mobile and production equipment, as well as the configuration of all tactical communications systems prior to shipment.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


Logistics Specialist I Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • Associate's degree in Business, or other related area of study preferred and 5 years' experience in logistics management required.
  • Proficient in written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to use S-ILMS and ILMS in support of PSP logistics requirements. Order fulfillment, tracking, and communication with posts. Ability to coordinate classified pouch shipments as directed.
  • Ability to get certification for Hazmat using DOD and DOT requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain professional working relationships with a wide variety of government and contractor staff.
  • Proven ability to directly support overseas logistic positions.
  • Must hold a Secret level security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
  • In-depth knowledge of Maximo; Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software.
