Responsibilities:
The Clinical Mentor guides, trains and coaches team members through the promotion and delivery of high-quality nursing care. Orients, educates and develops nursing team members to ensure competence and ability to fulfill specified responsibilities. Provides support to novice and advanced nurses and preceptors to ensure a smooth transition into practice and the work environment. Meets the clinical and social adjustment needs of all team members by integrating knowledge, skills and experiences. Participates in the design, delivery and evaluation of educational programs to promote clinical development and career progression from novice to proficient nurse for new or existing clinicians.
Requirements:
- Hours: M-F
- Location: Inova Mount Vernon Hospital
- Education: Bachelors Degree in Nursing
- Experience: Three years of progressive experience in clinical nursing in designated specialty. Experience serving as preceptor. Experience in PACU or ICU, preferred.
- Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association; Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse
- Other: Must be comfortable in front of a classroom
