Compass Lexecon provides state of the art economic research capabilities that combine the academic, private-sector, and public-sector expertise of in-house economists and academic affiliates.ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:PRIMARY DUTIES:Works as a technology support advocate for Compass Lexecon staff with a primary focus on support for the Washington DC office location.Must be able to configure, install and troubleshoot all standard software applications on laptop computers.Configures and supports all standard business apps on Compass Lexecon mobile devices.Maintains thorough understanding of video equipment installed in the office and can provide audio and video calling assistance for staff.Provide leadership in maintaining in-depth experience with application software installation and use.Remains knowledgeable of and experienced with using operating systems on workstations and servers.Familiar with local and wide area network concepts, LAN/WAN connectivity, and data communications protocols.Remains competent and has a thorough understanding of PC hardware components and supported software, including messaging clients, web browsers and Internet, anti-virus software, office productivity applications, and time entry systems.Provide training for new hires on relevant IT systems and services.Familiar with best practices for recording, updating, and resolving service requests and incidents; preferably experience with Service Now.Familiar with Android and iOs devicesADDITIONAL DUTIES\:As developed and coordinated upon request.Periodic physical labor, which may include moving equipment or furniture up to 50 lbs and flexibility to crawl underneath desks or tables to access network jacks and electric receptacles.In-office work is expected 5 days a week; however, some flexibility for hybrid work is optionalAt least 2-year Computer Science degree or equivalent experienceExperience with Active Directory and Windows 10/11 operating systemsStrong proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and SharePoint) and Microsoft Cloud ServicesStrong remote support experiencePREFERRED SKILLSSuperior customer service skillsDetailed knowledge of current leading edge personal computers, printers, and networking and communications interfaces and relationships.Excellent communication (written & verbal), planning, organization, and administrative skillsFlexibility to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environmentAbility to work under tight deadlines and stressful situationsAbility to handle and balance multiple critical tasks at the same timeDetailed knowledge of current leading edge PC workstation and server hardware and software including networking and communications interfaces and relationships.Ability to grasp fundamentals quickly and instruct others in their use.
