Clearance: Active Public Trust in DHS or a component of DHS

What You'll Be Doing

The Data Visualization Engineer will work with an established team to create meaningful dashboards that support our customer's decision-making

. This will include learning new tools when needed and learning a new information domain.

Required Skills and Experience:

Bachelor's degree plus 3+ years developing dashboards using data visualization technologies, such as PowerBI, Qlik Sense, or Tableau (Qlik Sense is highly preferred)

5+ years of overall technical experience, including analysis or development roles with databases, data integration, data mining, big data

Experience working on a software development program with complex data visualization needs

Experience using Excel charts and graphs

Good communication skills, particularly in requirements definition and documentation of visualization artifacts

Strong SQL experience on large complex datasets

Ability to learn new tools quickly as needed to provide new ideas for solving problems

Ability and desire to work with other program staff and customers to reach design decisions within given constraints

Excellent diplomacy and communication skills with both clients and technical staff

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Competence in Python, Spark, and PySpark

Competence in statistics

Familiarity with CSV and JSON data formats

Experience working with federal government clients

Experience with ETL and business intelligence tools (Informatica)

Experience with AWS cloud services
