Controller Overview:

The Controller will Partner with Senior Executive Leadership on all pertinent Accounting and Finance Accounting activity to make certain that integrity, accuracy, adequate controls and safeguards are established.

Controller Duties:

• Stay abreast of AP related due dates to ensure timely processing on spoken commitments
• Monitor all real estate tax obligations to ensure tax deadline payments are met.
• Review and ensure that all financial statements are accurate and available monthly.
• Senior Leadership is keen on real-time Cash position status reports/updates to ensure that all job cost invoices are processed timely and with appropriate lien waivers.
• Ensure fixed assets are accurate/up to date, monthly and reconciled annually.
• Assemble quarterly / annual statements to all entities
• Supervise/ enhance the ability/proficiency of Accounting staff members.
• Perform bank recs for the current month by the 25th of the succeeding month. The Controller will review the bank recs monthly except quarterly which will be reviewed Senior Exec Leadership. BR all sub-ledgers monthly: Accounts Payable, Property Management (Rent Roll), Fixed Assets, Security Deposits and Mortgages.
• Liaison between various departments and the Fiscal Lender.
• Interface with Cash Manager to process book, wire, and ACH transactions. Ensure all cash transactions are recorded daily.
• Partner with Senior Leadership on modifying financial transactions by sharing deep dive metrics/analysis
• Act as liaison between Property Management Company and Yardi accounting/property management software.
• Be an integral part of identifying, selecting and training new Accounting Team members

CONTROLLER QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED

• BA Accounting
• Several years' experience in Accounting in a Controller or closely related role
• CPA +
• Supervisory experience
• Real Estate / Property Management / Commercial Construction /Design/Build experience preferred
• Experience in Yardi / QuickBooks
