Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Nuestra Casa Latine Deaf Studies Center, the Nuestra Casa Latine Deaf Studies Center Manager supports the daily functions of the Center, promoting its mission and fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for students, faculty, and community members.

Job Description:
  • Manages the daily functions of the center, including budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
  • Develops and executes a strategic vision for the Latine Deaf Studies Center that aligns with the University's goals.
  • Develops and implements comprehensive marketing strategies to promote the activities and opportunities offered by the Latine Deaf Studies Center.
  • Collaborates with faculty to conceptualize, develop, and expand curriculum offerings in Latine studies.
  • Ensures compliance with institutional policies and procedures, maintaining a high integrity, ethics, and accountability standard.
  • Provides strong leadership and guidance to staff, faculty, and students within the center, fostering a culture of excellence and inclusivity.
  • Designs, coordinates and oversees academic programs, workshops, events, and lectures on Latine Deaf studies.
  • Represents the center at conferences, meetings, and events.
  • Establishes and maintains a positive and supportive working relationship with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Demonstrates a genuine commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace and participates in activities and workshops to foster continuous learning.
  • Serves as a mandatory reporter under Title IX; and commits to completing Title IX training and other compliance requirements on an annual basis.
  • Prioritizes safety in the workplace as a collective responsibility for the well-being of employees and fosters a culture of safety that is integral to our success, including strict adherence to safety procedures and protocols, as well as promptly reporting any safety hazards or incidents.
  • Performs related and other duties as needed.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum of four years of professional experience with business operations, project management, or a related field.
  • Ability to communicate in American Sign Language


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree.


Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of issues related to Latine communities and cultures.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong ability to oversee and provide basic direction to staff.
  • Strong ability to produce and evaluate interdisciplinary research, evidenced by a record of professional publications or equivalent achievements.
  • Strong public relations skills including public speaking, media relations, event planning, and the development of promotional materials.
  • Strong familiarity with university policies and academic resources.
  • Demonstrated experience with donor cultivation.
  • Demonstrated experience with a substantial focus on Chicana/o-Latina/o Studies, including planning lectures, organizing student events, and contributing to faculty committees.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering appreciation and understanding of CHILATST through strategic planning, academic programming, teaching, committee work, and community engagement.
  • Demonstrated experience with fostering collaboration with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, administrative staff, students, and community members, showcasing strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in academic administration and program development.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and across University departments, outside constituents, and groups.
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
