The Role in Brief:

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Specialist

The SEO Specialist will play a pivotal role in driving organic traffic growth and enhancing the online visibility of EAB's higher education clients. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of SEO best practices, coupled with hands-on experience in executing successful SEO strategies. This includes providing guidance and insights to partners, conducting website audits, performing keyword research, and contributing to the SEO discipline at EAB.

The role will be based in either Richmond, VA or Washington, D.C.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Develop and lead SEO strategy that aligns with our partners' goals for their websites.

* Conduct and present in-depth SEO audits of websites to identify technical SEO issues, on-page optimization opportunities, and areas for improvement in organic search performance and user experience.

* Perform keyword research to provide relevant keywords for on-page recommendations to help optimize content that increases visibility within search engines and drives relevant organic traffic to a partner's website.

* Employ advanced analytical skills to interpret SEO data, turning raw data into actionable insights that drive strategy adjustments and optimizations.

* Compile relevant data across various reporting platforms to measure the effectiveness of SEO efforts and provide performance insights on an ongoing and ad-hoc basis to our partners. Provide insight into opportunities to reoptimize website content for additional or improved rankings.

* Stay abreast of industry trends and contribute to the thought leadership of the SEO team.

* Work within Google Ads to extract data on possible keywords to use for SEO.

* Communicate to a diverse set of teams and educate stakeholders about SEO; use data and insight to make a case for what you need to be successful.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, information technology, communications or related field.

* 2 years of SEO experience. This includes a deep understanding of SEO principles and the ability to apply them in a strategic manner.

* Strong communication skills, enabling effective collaboration across teams and clear presentation of strategies and outcomes to stakeholders at all levels.

* Expertise in utilizing GA4, Google Search Console, Looker Studio, and Tag Manager.

* Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to distill complex data into actionable insights and strategies. This includes a proficiency in evaluating SEO performance metrics to guide strategic decisions and optimize for results.

* Working knowledge of Google Ads.

* Strong creative aptitude, including an understanding of website design, information architecture, and content strategy.

Ideal Qualifications:

* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint

* Experience with SEO tools including SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, etc.

* Experience with TapClicks reporting

* Experience with Google Ads and paid search campaigns

* Direct response marketing and/or higher education experience

Compensation:

The anticipated starting salary (base) range for this role is $62,500 - $71,500 per year. Actual salary varies due to factors that may include but not be limited to relevant experience, skills, and location. At EAB, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the starting salary range for their role.
