Director, People, Climate United

Job description

In partnership with the Vice President of People, Climate United is seeking a Director of People and Human Resources with a focus on HR Operations including Talent Acquisition, Onboarding, and Talent Management. This role is pivotal in ensuring the organization attracts and retains top talent while also facilitating smooth onboarding processes and efficient HR operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Partner with the VP of People in the development and implementation of talent acquisition strategies to attract top talent aligned with Climate United's mission and values.
Oversee the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a seamless transition into the organization and alignment with organizational culture and goals.
Manage day-to-day HR operations, including but not limited to, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits administration, and compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.
Collaborate with department heads to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruitment plans.
Partner with external vendors and agencies as needed to support recruitment efforts.
Lead and mentor a team of HR professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, retention, and professional development.
Ensure HR policies and procedures are up to date and compliant with federal, state, and local regulations.
Qualifications

Qualifications:
8+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with a focus on talent acquisition, onboarding, and HR operations.
Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
Experience leading and managing a team of HR professionals.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
Proven track record of developing and implementing talent acquisition strategies that align with organizational goals.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a mission-driven organization or nonprofit sector.
SHRM certification or equivalent.
