EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Compensation Specialist. This position will be located at our headquarters in Germantown, MD.

Responsibilities:
  • Research, prepare, present and administer compensation administration activities, including designing, testing and implementing system enhancements and automation.
  • Benchmarks jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges and market trends.
  • Maintain and administer job and pay structures.
  • Interviews and surveys employees and managers to gather and document job and organizational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job.
  • Assess jobs and their duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range.
  • Advises management on applicable state and federal employment regulations and compensation policies and procedures.
  • Prepares and presents summary reports of job and compensation analysis information and routine compliance audits.
  • Conducts data and cost analyses to be used in employee compensation activities.
  • Plans and communicates preferred methods and best practices for hiring, training, compensating, and evaluating employees.
  • Build and maintain relationships with business partners and leadership across the organization.
  • Participate in various corporate events as a member of the HR Team, including Take Your Child to Work Day and Business Reviews.


Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities

Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, human resources or related fields
  • 8+ years of experience in designing and administering compensation programs

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods
  • Extensive knowledge of human resource laws, regulations and best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational, project management and time management skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or CCP
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and as part of a project team
  • Experience in data integrity analytics, reporting, and system control practices
