EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Compensation Specialist. This position will be located at our headquarters in Germantown, MD.
Responsibilities:
Research, prepare, present and administer compensation administration activities, including designing, testing and implementing system enhancements and automation.
Benchmarks jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges and market trends.
Maintain and administer job and pay structures.
Interviews and surveys employees and managers to gather and document job and organizational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job.
Assess jobs and their duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range.
Advises management on applicable state and federal employment regulations and compensation policies and procedures.
Prepares and presents summary reports of job and compensation analysis information and routine compliance audits.
Conducts data and cost analyses to be used in employee compensation activities.
Plans and communicates preferred methods and best practices for hiring, training, compensating, and evaluating employees.
Build and maintain relationships with business partners and leadership across the organization.
Participate in various corporate events as a member of the HR Team, including Take Your Child to Work Day and Business Reviews.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in finance, human resources or related fields
8+ years of experience in designing and administering compensation programs
Preferred Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods
Extensive knowledge of human resource laws, regulations and best practices
Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills
Excellent organizational, project management and time management skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or CCP
Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and as part of a project team
Experience in data integrity analytics, reporting, and system control practices
