Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Ostomy WOC Nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care given to patients with a wound, ostomy, or continence issue. Additionally, they are responsible for working collaboratively with physicians and other disciplines in providing care to patients with a wound, ostomy, or continence issue. In this role, they provide consultation to staff regarding management of patients with wound, ostomy, or continence issues. The Ostomy WOC Nurse is also responsible for participating in pertinent committees and task forces and for contributing to research studies related to wound, ostomy, and continence care. To be considered for this position, applicants should have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a minimum of two years of recent clinical nursing experience with wound care/ostomy (preferred) or two years of medical-surgical experience, be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida, and have a Certified Wound, Ostomy, Nurse (CWOCN) or equivalent within one year of hire or WOC program letter of acceptance, as well as Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Intermediate computer knowledge, including the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows is also required.
