Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) Senior Systems Administrator ( MECM Administrator ) to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. The MECM Administrator will be part of the Department of State (DOS) Consular Affairs Enterprise Infrastructure Operations (CAEIO) Program for the Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA). CAEIO provides IT Operations and Maintenance to modernize the legacy networks, applications, and databases supporting CA services globally.

CAEIO s Windows Services Support Team provides enterprise-level planning, analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, and operational support services for CA in several facets of Microsoft technologies.

Responsibilities

The MECM Administrator reports to the Windows Services Support Team manager. The MECM Administrator:

  • Collaborates with Windows Services Team colleagues, other CAEIO team members, and other stakeholders to manage CA s MECM environments.
  • Tracks problems, monitors performance, and performs upgrades to systems, as required, with the proper change control approvals.
  • Participates in long and short-range technology planning and engages in new technology initiatives that advance and optimize the client network.
  • Prepares and maintains documentation on system configurations, procedures, and service records related to system changes.

Core Work Schedule: First shift, approximately 7:30am 4pm.

Work Location: This position is hybrid with remote work and up to two days per week in the office in Sterling, VA or Washington, DC.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship and active SECRET Government Security Clearance.
  • 8+ years experience installing, configuring, managing, and maintaining Windows Server class systems.
  • 6+ years in-depth experience managing and maintaining Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) 2012.
  • Must be able to:
    • Create custom MECM reports and SQL queries.
    • Analyze and troubleshoot MECM-related issues from client management, deployments, and MECM infrastructure.
    • Deploy software using MECM Software Distribution and Task Sequence application capabilities.
    • Prepare, test, and deploy software updates using MECM Software Deployment Management capabilities.
    • Build/develop custom software installation packages and applications.
    • Architect MECM infrastructure.
    • Author and deploy custom Desired Configuration Management baselines.
  • 3+ years experience utilizing scripting languages (PowerShell/VB) to automate system administration tasks and create custom software installations.
  • 1+ years Configuration Management experience using Microsoft Intune.
  • Experience creating custom reports using Microsoft PowerBI.
  • Knowledge of configuration management and deployment processes.

Desired Qualifications

  • 1+ years experience with Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy Management.
  • 1+ years experience managing systems in Azure, AWS, or other cloud architecture service.
  • Experience migrating workstations from Windows 10 to Windows 11 using MECM.
  • Experience implementing and managing Microsoft BitLocker.
  • Working knowledge of government IT security and best practices.
  • Certification(s) in Microsoft technologies.

Target Salary Range
$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
