We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Shopify Engineer to join our company specializing in Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) e-commerce. You will be responsible for the development, optimization, and maintenance of Shopify-based websites for our portfolio of DTC brands. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building and maintaining Shopify stores and will play a crucial role in driving our clients' e-commerce success by enhancing user experience and ensuring platform scalability and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Platform Development:
• Lead the architecture, development, and maintenance of Shopify stores for DTC brands.
• Customize and optimize Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Develop custom Shopify apps and integrations to extend the platform's functionality for our clients.
• Optimization & Performance:
• Implement best practices for SEO, site speed, and overall performance optimization tailored to DTC e-commerce.
• Conduct regular performance audits and devise strategies for improvement to enhance the customer experience.
• Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility for a seamless shopping experience.
• Technical Leadership:
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers within our agency.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver high-quality solutions for our DTC clients.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in e-commerce and integrate them into our development process.
• Integration & Automation:
• Integrate third-party services and APIs to enhance Shopify's capabilities for our clients.
• Develop and maintain custom middleware and backend services as needed for client-specific requirements.
• Implement automation scripts to streamline deployment, testing, and other development processes, ensuring quick turnaround for campaign launches.
• Problem Solving & Troubleshooting:
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues with Shopify platforms used by our DTC brands.
• Provide timely support and maintenance for client e-commerce sites, ensuring minimal downtime and disruptions.
• Debug and resolve complex technical problems across the entire development stack.
• Quality Assurance:
• Implement and manage a robust testing framework to ensure code quality and reliability for client projects.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices within the team.
• Ensure thorough documentation of code, processes, and system architecture for client-specific solutions.

Requirements

• Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years in web development, with at least 3 years of experience specifically in Shopify development.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering Shopify projects for DTC brands.
• Technical Skills:
• Expertise in Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js).
• Proficiency in developing custom Shopify apps using Node.js, Ruby on Rails, or other relevant technologies.
• Experience with Shopify APIs (REST and GraphQL) and third-party API integrations.
• Strong understanding of e-commerce best practices, including SEO, performance optimization, and security.
