The Payroll Specialist is responsible for delivering accurate and quality multi-state payroll through bi-weekly payroll processing, manage payroll tax administration and work under limited supervision.
Essential Duties:
Responsible for timely and accurate preparation and processing of payroll for exempt and non-exempt population in multiple FEINs, states and jurisdictions within Workday.
Manage payroll workflow to ensure all transactions are processed accordingly.
Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies in accordance with Service Level Agreements.
Prepare final wages through off-cycle processing.
Review, analyze and provide insights on payroll audit reports.
Complete requests for time tracking and wage verifications.
Provide ADP employee withholding orders and ensure timely, accurate processing and remittance.
Stays current on federal and state compliance with wage and hour laws to ensure compliant.
Manage Payroll Tax at employee and company level.
Support business with payroll related inquiries.
Drive improvement efforts with processes.
Maintain process documentation and training materials.
Manage assigned projects.
Minimum Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
2-4 years payroll processing and payroll tax experience
Workday and ADP payroll experience preferred
Advanced experience Microsoft Office programs
Experience with multi-state processing
Strong knowledge of federal, state and local payroll tax laws
Detail-oriented team player with ability to handle multiple projects and tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
Must possess strong customer service, follow up and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure while remaining flexible and meeting deadlines
Ability to work in a team environment that includes cross-team collaboration
