Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Pay: The starting pay is $18.46 an hour.

What You Would Be Doing

This staff person is responsible for direct patient care to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and provides clinical support to providers and other staff. Duties include but are not limited to: obtaining medical history information, expedite patient flow through the clinic, rooming patients, stocking clinic with supplies, navigate electronic health record system, scheduling appointments, assist with medication refill requests, completing prior authorizations, assist with completion of ISPs. This staff person will communicate frequently with pharmacies, insurance companies, patients, families and caregivers via all forms of communication.
  • Assists in the completion of Individual Service Plans (ISP's).
  • Complete crash cart audits as assigned and maintain crash cart as directed.
  • Perform housekeeping duties such as cleaning exam rooms, lab and nursing stations.
  • Conducts chart audits as directed by nurse manager. Assists with patient data collection.
  • Monitors incoming faxes and voicemails, follows up accordingly.
  • Documents patient vital signs, reported medications, and allergies during each visit in EHR.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patients.
  • Ensures the safety, health and well-being of all patients; reports and documents unsafe conditions in the environment and injury and health conditions of all patients; interacts in a positive way with patients at all times; fosters a positive atmosphere.
  • Attends inservice training programs and staff meetings.
  • May perform delegated nursing tasks.
  • Reports unusual incidents and communicates unusual medical situations as required; performs first aid and other procedures as trained and designated.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to communicate in English, including both spoken and in writing.
  • At least one to three years experience working with intellectually/developmentally disabled individuals.
Required Licensure/Certification:
  • STNA certification
  • First Aid, CPR - adult, child, and infant; or the ability to become certified in CPR/FA within 60 days of hire (training will be provided).
  • Valid Ohio Driver's License with Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles; proof of auto insurance; insurable driving record (five points or fewer).
Skills/Knowledge:
  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing.
  • Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
  • Must be a contributing member of nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor.
  • Must be polite and considerate of patients, visitors, and co-workers at all times.
  • Must be detail oriented and have competent literacy and writing, documentation, communications and interpersonal abilities.
  • Must be able to use tools and equipment as required - including pushing/pulling wheelchairs, lifting consumers with hoyer lifts.
  • Ongoing nursing and programmatic training in order to work with the most medically fragile persons under our care.
