Position Title: Business Analyst
Position Description:
Trillion Technology Solutions (Trillion) is seeking a full time Business Analyst to provide data analytic and communications support to a high profile federal client. Ideal candidates will be mid-level business analysts with 5-7 years experience who thrive in fact-paced, highly collaborative, team-oriented environments and who:
Possess strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of building rapport with clients, stakeholders, and team members
Are excellent communicators with strong written and verbal communication skills
Have proven experience in one or more of the following areas: data analytics, data management, data science, web API's, API driven data solutions
Utilize programming languages such as SQL, R, or Python for exploring and analyzing data
Have the ability to prioritize own work based on competing demands of clients and team members
Are excited about learning organization-specific programs and technologies
Have high level of personal initiative with the ability to rapidly learn client and industry environment
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting FEMA's open government initiative by facilitating the release of high-value datasets to the public. Making FEMA's data publicly available promotes government transparency and accountability, as well as enables collaboration with Whole Community partners to improve outcomes in support of disaster survivors. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Data Analytic Support:
Execute data analytic efforts including but not limited to metadata validation; evaluating consistency across metadata, dataset models, and OpenFEMA website data dictionaries; and API endpoint testing.
Review, modify, and execute dataset queries for inconsistencies in data and query performance issues.
Take an enterprise view of FEMA's data and ensures data released provides a consistent view across datasets.
Author technical materials and responses to internal and external inquiries.
Prepare reports on data releases, usage statistics, and impact.
Stakeholder Outreach / Communications Support:
Serve as a liaison between the program and internal stakeholders, building rapport, cultivating trusted relationships, and helping to identify high-value data to share publicly.
Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate data releases in machine-readable formats, adhering to Federal Open Data directives, executive orders, memoranda, and legislative mandates.
Execute internal and external communications activities (e.g., presentations, web content creation and management, programmatic responses to internal and external inquiries).
Qualifications/Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field
5-7 years of experience is required
Experience in the information technology (IT) industry required
Federal Government consulting experience required
Experience working with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) highly preferred
Knowledge of Open Government initiatives and/or open data principles a plus
Knowledge of emergency management concepts a plus
Experience with at least one computer programming language required (e.g., SQL, R, Python)
Experience with productivity and collaboration tools (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Jira, Confluence, GitLab, GitHub)
US. citizenship is required
