Job description
Our client is seeking a Shop Technician to join their team in Lorton, VA. The Shop Technician is responsible for building and fabricating all types of wire rope and chain sling assemblies per outlined procedures. This candidate will be required to inspect and test finished assemblies. The Shop Technician will also assist in all shop related activities including receiving stock, maintaining a clean workplace, and loading trucks for pickups and deliveries.
Daily Responsibilities:
* Work with hands and tools/machinery provided to fabricate wire rope and chain assemblies
* Operate test machines to ensure that all product meets and/or exceeds quality standards
* Conduct inspections of product at various stages of completion
* Properly utilize forklift and overhead cranes as necessary in order to move product
* Use laser and engraving machinery to create identification tags
* Conduct equipment maintenance and repair as scheduled and as necessary
* Provide assistance to other departments as requested
Job Requirements
Requirements:
* Eighteen (18) years of age or older
* High School Diploma Required/Technical School or Associates Degree preferred
* 1+ years' experience in a manufacturing, warehouse or similar environment
* Ability to lift 50lbs with or without accommodation
